INDONESIA CELEBRATES ITS 77TH INDEPENDENCE DAY WITH A FUTSAL MATCH

 

On August 7, 2022, the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia in Karachi hosted an international futsal friendly match at the Karachi United futsal stadium to celebrate the 77th anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia's independence.

The competition was kicked off by Dr June Kuncoro Hadiningrat, the Indonesian consul general, together with Andrey V. Fedorov, the Russian consul general, and representatives Khairul Nazran, the Malaysian consul general, and Nguyen Thi-Diep, the Vietnamese consul general and head of the trade office.

Participants from Jamia Binoria in Indonesia, as well as students from other ASEAN nations (Thailand, Viet Nam, Malaysia, Cambodia), Nigeria, and the diplomats and personnel from the Indonesian and Russian consulate generals in Karachi, attended the competition.

Representatives from the students ultimately won the game after defeating those from the Russian and Indonesian consulate generals in Karachi. The game was lively and thrilling throughout. This practice was successful in fostering a sense of camaraderie and friendliness among Karachi's Indonesian population as well as with Nigerians, Russians, and ASEAN nationals.

The theme of the competition, "Recover Together, Recover Stronger," is in line with Indonesia's aim for the G20 during its chairmanship.
