WHERE SINGAPORE ORGANISATIONS RANK IN APAC MARKETS FOR DIGITAL AGILITY
In a recent survey commissioned by Workday, it was shown that despite chances to accelerate digital transformation and enhance technology adoption during the pandemic, four out of ten organisations in Singapore (37 per cent) are still trailing in digital agility.
According to the IDC-Workday Digital Agility Index Asia/Pacific 2022, the major difficulties reported by Singaporean organisations in undertaking digital transformation were as follows:
The study's overall findings, which included organisation rankings on the Digital Agility Index, showed how far Asia Pacific (APAC) organisations have come in terms of digital agility since the COVID-19 epidemic (DAI). Depending on their results, organisations are classified as "agility followers" if they are in the slow/tactical phases of digital agility maturity or "agility leaders" if they are deemed to be in the agile/integrated stages.
Looking at each market separately, Australian organisations led the way this year in terms of digital transformation activities and made the most progress. Singapore slid to the second spot from first in 2020 while Australia advanced in the rankings.

New Zealand, Korea, and Hong Kong came in third, fourth, and fifth position, respectively, after this. Following Malaysia, Indonesia, and Thailand was Taiwan, a new participant in the research, in sixth place.
Only 38% of APAC organisations were found to be in the advanced phases of digital agility from a regional standpoint. Although this number represents an 18 percentage point rise from 2020, overall progress is still being made.
Technology adoption is frequently influenced by functional requirements and business objectives, such as e-commerce, safety precautions, and remote work during the pandemic, for the 62 per cent of APAC organisations that are lagging in digital agility (i.e., agility followers).
