CUBA REQUESTS TECHNICAL SUPPORT FROM THE US FOR FIGHTING AN OIL FIRE
On Friday Cuba stated that they have requested for a technical assistance from US As they have faced a devastating fire at an oil storage that left 16 fire fighters to death.
On Wednesday their held a virtual meeting between expertise from Cuba and U.s Environmental Protection Agency for Matanzas Supertanker port cleanup and according to Cuba Foreign Ministry they described it As a Professional and Fruitful Discussion.
According to the foreign ministry, Cuba had requested for a suggestion on their current efforts and needs to know information on how it may acquire access to cutting-edge American techniques and procedures from the EPA, other government agencies, and oil firms.
According to the report it states that Three weeks ago a lightning strike in Matanzas which resulted in burning of an oil storage tank, and the fire spread throughout very rapidly which resulted in burning of three more tanks.The officals stated that this was the worst fire attack in the whole history of Caribbean island which took a week timing to set off.
Since shortly after former leader Fidel Castro's 1959 revolution, the United States has maintained a thorough sanctions regime on Communist-run Cuba, which is located just over 100 miles offshore.
The United States telephoned technical assistance at the time of the fire.
