INCREASED FUNDING FOR A DEFENSE SYSTEM AGAINST NORTH KOREAN THREATS

 

According to North Korea's increasing missile and nuclear threats, the South Korean Defense Ministry has requested a rise in spending on developing a domestic three-axis defense system of 9.4%, but has left out of the budget a contentious plan to locally construct a light aircraft carrier.

According to the Defense Ministry Cabinet ministry announced the whole budget for defense for 2023 was set to raise by 4.6% annually around 57.1 trillion.

The funding for Force maintenance and operations has been raised by 5.8% from the past years around 40.1 trillion.

The budget of operating and maintaining military facilities and equipment as well as other expenditure’s like military officers’ wages and benefits, their training cost and education everything was by the operation and maintenance appropriatons.

As per the report it states that Force improvement programme budget raised by 2%to about 17 trillion by past years.

The Korean ministry stated that “We’ve significantly invested in raising salaries of soldiers, and even heavily enhancing the quality of meals, clothing, and living conditions to make acceptable for soldiers of the next generation, and Even improving conditions for soldiers to serve and military officials to command.
