MANY PEOPLE ARE LEFT STRANDED AT DELHI AIRPORT DUE TO THE CANCELLATION OF LUFTHANSA FLIGHTS.
Last night at the Delhi airport, delayed travellers and their loved ones protested vehemently the cancellation of Lufthansa flights.
700 passengers were left stranded at the T3 terminal at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport as a result of a one-day pilot strike that forced Germany's flag carrier Lufthansa to cancel 800 flights throughout the world. Stuck travelers and their loved ones protested vehemently last night at the Delhi airport.
At 12.15 AM, IGI Airport received information indicating that a throng had assembled on the main road in front of Departure Gate No. 1 in Terminal 3. Upon arrival, it was discovered that there were about 150 people there, and that the traffic had slowed down as a result. Airport police reported that the mob was demanding a refund or other arrangements be made for their families who were present within the terminal building.
According to the report Flights from Delhi to Frankfurt and Munich are operated by Lufthansa; these flights were cancelled on Friday.
