PYONGYANG CONDUCTS A NUCLEAR TEST, SEOUL, TOKYO, AND WASHINGTON PROMISE TO MAKE PYONGYANG "LEARN OF ITS FAULT."

 


In order to ensure that North Korea understands it has made a clear "wrong decision," South Korea, Japan, and the United States have committed to work together to take severe action against the dictatorship if it performs a nuclear test, Seoul's security director said on Thursday (US time).
After meeting with his colleagues from the US and Japan, South Korea's national security adviser Kim Sung-han said that the three nations also agreed to develop a coordinated response to prevent interruption in the world supply chain.

On Thursday, Kim held talks about North Korea, economic security, and significant regional issues with Jake Sullivan, the US national security advisor, and Takeo Akiba, the national security advisor of Japan. Since the Yoon Suk-yeol administration took office in Korea in May, this was the first meeting of its kind to be convened among the security officials.
Speaking to reporters prior to flying back to Seoul, Kim stated that the three nations had decided to extend their collaboration in order to preserve peace and stability throughout the region and on the Korean Peninsula.
The latest nuclear test shouldn't be considered to be yet another similar to the previous six. We will increase our cooperation with the rest of the world in order to make sure that the North is aware that its seventh nuclear test is a clear mistake.
When the North conducts its seventh nuclear test, Kim added that the responses from the three nations "definitely will be different from those so far."
Kim asserted that the US and South Korea should first discuss their trilateral cooperation on expanded nuclear deterrent.
According to Kim, The Extended Deterrence Strategy and Consultation Groups Conference between Seoul and Washington, set for mid-September, would cover additional information on extended nuclear deterrence.
