BEGINNING NEXT WEEK IS A CAREER BOOT CAMP FOR HIGH SCHOOL PUPILS

At a Boot Camp in Abu Dhabi the following week, Emirati high school students in grades 10 to 12 will study more about vocations in space, life and health science, and jobs of the future in new technology fields.

The five-day Career Boot Camp will be co-hosted by Khalifa University of Science and Technology and Mubadala Investment Company.

The Khalifa University-Mubadala Career Boot Camp, which will take place from August 15 to 19 at the university's main and Sas Al Nakhl (SAN) campuses, is a component of Mubadala's Emiratization programme, which aims to expand opportunities for UAE citizens and develop the future leaders in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).

The students will be divided into three groups where they will receive further information on employment opportunities in fields like cybersecurity, energy, communications, life and health sciences, robots, and space.

On the final day of the boot camp, participating students will be required to present a capstone poster project. The project will describe the student's chosen career path, the motivation behind it, its significance to the community, prospective hurdles, the project's end goal, related courses taken in school, real-world employment samples from top employers, and the necessary skills.

I intend to participate in the Career Boot Camp. According to Emirati Ahmed Khalid, an 11th-grade student in Abu Dhabi, "it is such a wonderful and crucial project."

The Khalifa University-Mubadala Career Boot Camp will highlight the significance of STEM readiness among UAE National high school students, according to Dr Ahmed Al Shoaibi, Senior Vice-President for Academic and Student Affairs at Khalifa University. The topics covered in this boot camp will greatly help students plan their future career paths and familiarise them with the most recent technological advancements in these sectors. We think that the capstone project will specifically motivate participants by providing a blueprint for artistically demonstrating their future objectives, which will resemble the final learning output of this boot camp experience.
