According to Mitsotakis, he was not informed that the phone of PASOK Socialist leader Nikos Androulakis, who resurrected a party that was once the major rival to the party that is currently in power in Greece, was bugged so that his conversations could be tapped. Androulakis resurrected a party that was once the major rival to the party that is currently in power in Greece. Androulakis was the one who was responsible for reviving a party that was previously the primary adversary of the party that is now in power. Mitsotakis attests to the fact that, in any other situation, he would have acted if he had been aware of it if it had been brought to his attention.  After Androulakis, a member of the European Parliament, reported that experts there uncovered an attempt to install Predator spyware on his mobile phone in September 2021, three months before he took over as leader of PASOK, the eavesdropping was brought to light.

Hackers will have access to passwords as well as text and voice communications if they use Predator since it can unlock access to encrypted messages and activate cameras and microphones on mobile devices. This puts journalists and sources in danger as well.
